Get Involved

There are many ways to be involved in our Sunday services as a layperson. Whether serving as a lector, acolyte, Eucharistic Minister, or member of one of our choirs, these roles allow each person to grow in their faith in service to the church and the St. Paul’s community.

Lector

A lector is a lay person trained in reading scripture, lessons, or lead the prayers of the people. The term is from the Latin, “to read.” A lector may also be known as a reader.

Acolyte

The word “acolyte” means “one who follows,” from the Greek akolouthos, and this ministry traces back to the early church. Today, acolytes continue this tradition as lay ministers who assist with leading worship, carrying symbols of faith, and helping create the liturgy that draws people to St. Paul’s.

Eucharistic Minister

Lay eucharistic ministers may be licensed to administer the consecrated bread and wine at any celebration of the eucharist.

Choirs

Our choirs enhance the experiences of worship and serve an integral role at St. Paul’s. We have a Chancel Choir, a Gospel Choir, a Handbell Choir, and many opportunities for congregational singing during our Sunday services at 10:00 a.m.
